It's Ticky the Elephant to match his book! This gift set won't fail to bring a smile to the face of any child who receives it. The Women of Hope in Nigeria have created the grey batik elephant and red cape to go along with this story that was created in the Rwanda Rafiki Village.
There are buttons for eyes on this little guy, so we only recommend them for children 3 years of age and up.
Ticky the Elephant has an attitude problem. It takes a bump on the head to bring him to his senses. Children will be captivated by this whimsical animal tale set in Africa with its vibrant illustrations, lovable characters, and memorable moral message.
This story was birthed on a sunny school-day morning in the summer of 2016 in a classroom in Rwanda. Students attending the Rafiki Institute of Classical Education (RICE) wrote this story along with their substitute teacher, Julie Jones, who was serving as a short-term missionary with the Rafiki Foundation. The assignment in the RICE curriculum was to write a "naughty animal" tale in the style of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. With chairs placed in a circle, the students contributed ideas as their teacher recorded the story.
This story would not be a picture book without the wonderful illustrations drawn by artist Sheri Del Core. Sheri generously donated her time and talent to bring Ticky, Zee-Gee, Bee-Bee, and Co-Co to vibrant life.
