These eggs are made from soapstone which is commonly found in Kenya and gets its name from its smooth, soap-like feel. After the stone is carved and sanded down, it is then painted by hand. 

They weigh approximately one pound.

The soapstone is naturally a creamy white interspersed with veins and spots of light pink, grey, or brown coloring throughout.
